Alaskan King Crab Legs: a Specialized Dish on Its Own
Alaskan King Crab Legs are within the range of haute cuisine as you call it. When combined with nicely baked potato and some fresh colorful vegetables, Alaskan King Crab legs provide for a complete, if not nutritious meal. You buy king crab legs pre-cooked and frozen. This means that you will not need a great deal of cooking because they have been already cooked. All you need to do is have them cooked thoroughly some more to bring out its delicious juices. On a large baking pan, lay your Alaskan King Crab legs until it is slightly filled. Thaw them on the roasting pan and cover them with foil to sit in the refrigerator the whole night. The purpose for covering the crab legs with foil is so they do not pick up other flavors that might interfere with their own. The next day, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Fill a stock pot with water and boil on high heat. Add lemon, salt and garlic. Place the roasting pan in the oven and pour the stock over it. Heat crabs for seven minutes. When serving, drain the water from the pan and arrange on a bed of steamed vegetables.
